Importing a car from the States?

Has anybody done it? If so how much did it cost to bring across the border (to canada)?

i was going to buy fishcat's crx... hes in illinois.. i was serious about the car, but then i started gettin deep into things...

first things first... u better have ALOT of extra cash just incase...
ALL recalls on the vehicle must be fixed..
there has to be a child restraint somewhere on the vihcle (inside of course)
u need to have daytime running headlights (from which i hear can cost a decent amount to have installed)..
then u pay an extra 100$ just if the car has A/C..
U pay All taxes on the car..
The car has to pass both safetys AT the border (u gotta tell the border 2 weeks in advance when u r coming)..
They rip the car apart inside and out..
If the car has any flaws ect.... here are your options
a) Go back to the states and sell the car there
b) Destroy the car infront of the officials (people who inspect ect.)

All said and done.... Dont bother.. Unless its an award winning tens of thosands of dollers car for like 2G... but then again like thatll happen....
