yea like on a different server at a different place ........ i know superhonda has a nice drift forum and so does streetracingonline
but i think illusiverides would be a better place cuz we can mess up and we won't get scorned for getting something wrong.
The best choice technically would be SH or SRO

Is illusiverides still on-line? I heard rumour of it shutting down.

i'm banned from SuperHonda becuz i called them Nazis. they close threads before anything can get straightened out & delete posts just cuz they can. www.honda-acura.net has friendly ppl, even a few admirers of Initial D. i hav never seen there server go down, unlike SH. BTW, will any of these threads get "copied" to the new place?

I think the AF Tofu Crew is just a bunch of AF junkies who like initial d. I bet most of us come here for the other forums and only occaisionally browse Initial D. I doubt there would be much of an impact in moving to a differnt server.

just a word of warning: StreetRacingOnline is a forum full of ricers and little 14 year old kids that are only out to flame people. i would steer clear of it if i were you. where HAS tom gone anyways?

I think I"m going to stay here...AF has alot more than Initial D and it was nice of them to start the Initial D THread in the first place.
Anyways, S13_Iketani, that RX-7 model you have on your sig looks amazing...where can I get it?

NSX - where in Toronto do you live? i bought mine at a store called Action Hobbies at the Bramalea City Centre Mall in Brampton, but they only had one left. your best bet if you really want this model would be to order it online from either www.hlj.com or www.1999.co.jp. both are hobby websites based in Japan, and sell all sorts of models like the ones in my sig, and they sell them for alot cheaper then they are over here.

Anyways, there's a good supply of Best Motoring there:D

ah yes!! pacific mall. one of my favourite haunts! i live in Caledon, which is a smallish town on the outskirts of Brampton. i go to Pacific Mall for most of my models, but i just happened to find this RX-7 at the mall in brampton. most of the rest of my models/JDM car stuff i buy in Fobtown. $40 is alot for a Tamiya kit when compared to the internet sites i listed. on there, they're about $20-25.

Yah, exactly!
Does the $20-25 include shipping? B/c I checked on the HK Hobby sites and the shipping can go as high as $17...which it not worth the hassle..

usually, for one kit, it can be a bit expensive, but as you add items (like glue, wheels, other kits, paint, paintbrushes etc.) the shipping cost starts to go down. if you need more information about this, i suggest coming and taking a gander at the Car Modelling forum under Automotive Art. if you check out the FAQ, you'll find almost all the info you'll need.

:D That's true. Honda is all about grip racing and taking the line; but Spoon modifed a JDM S2000 to drift as well as the S15 Silvia; and the NSX can be drifted too!
Anyways, calm down...any car is actually drifitable; but it's all about the technique.

i don't personally consider drifting in an FWD car actually drifting, i call it "ass dragging", because thats basically what you're doing. front wheels scrambling to grip and the rear wheels just being dragged sideways. doesn't scream "exciting" to me.

But what's the real point of drifting anyways? I'm guessing most races are won with taking the line rather than drifting...

hmm... i frequent superhonda and there's nothing on drifting....
at least nothing quality there...
that board is full of alot of people with small brains to say the least...
but that's kinda what makes it so fun...
but people there wouldn't be able to get into a drifting conversation...
i do remember a video i downloaded, a segment from option... and they had these two little econ boxes "drifting" (fwd cars *ass draggin*)
and it took a 2 or 3 views of the video to realize they were fwd... the rear tire smoke gave it away... you couldn't see that they weren't spinning b/c they had steelies on em...
funny...

Hey fellas. I've just been made the mod of the Racing forum, as some of you might have noticed. Honestly this is the first time I've EVER been in the Initial D section. Saw the title of this thread and it immediately drew my attention(for obvious reasons). Losing members is NEVER a good thing, especially when one of the reasons for losing them is lack of or bad moderation. I haven't talked to Tom S8 yet, so I don't know exactly what is going on there. Either way, hopefully most of you will end up staying here. I've had my encounters with the AF Tofu crew, I'm sure "NSX-R etc." can remember our, uhhh..."debates" back in the Honda/Acura Racing forums months ago. But I have also come to see that most of you are at least dedicated to the site and post interesting threads and useful information. If anyone has any ideas on what can be done here to make the experience more enjoyable let me know asap through PM or on the board. And on a sidenote, all of the server issues have been worked out from what I understand. Thanks for any suggestions, and I hope I can persuade ALL of you that AF is your home:D

I know how good it is over here. I lived in Germany for 6 years...$1 a liter(which is about the same as you I'd reckon...) Things are definately better over here in that respect. What's insurance like for you guys over there though? $300 a month on a perfect record for me:( :(

Yikes! I'm a new driver, with a Porsche, and they want $100 a month, Canadian! That's for one million insurance, with uninsured driver insurance too... Of course, I'm getting comprehensive and collision too, it's only an extra $25 a month.
It's all kind of moot, because I'm too broke to insure the car anyways :/
