I finally have raised enuff cash to buy me a car. I want to buy a 1990 civic HB with 100k miles. The body looks good. No rust. Should I expect to do some major work on the car eg get new pistonz and other stuff like that or are Hondaz reliable enuff to let me sleep peacefully without having nightmares of the engine falling off??:( :( Thanx

100,000 is just breaking in a honda many people take then well over 250,000 as long as it has been taken care of and everything is regularly maintained i don't see why it wound not last as long

yea...that low mileage for a honda engine. My dad had a 79 accord with over 375,000 miles on it.

What!! That is such good news. That was the only thing that was keeping me. So on Monday(probably), I am gonna get me a honda. Cant wait. Approximately how much does the labour of replacing a clutch cost??:flash:

You should be able to get clutches installed for $400 (includes parts+labor).

I too put 20k miles on my car in a year but I am up to 151k (bought car at 130k) and I am not on the original engine. Why the high miles?

Hey dude...welcome to the board....yeah 100K is nothing...there is a reason our odometers have 6 digits ;)
I have a great shop in Glen Burnie I take my car to for work..it isn't really too far from you...just around the Beltway and they are worth the drive for me every time. He did my clutch (replacment of original) at 168K miles. The first time up (at 147K) he told me it wasn't time to replace it yet so I was like :alien2:
Anyway - cool to have another Marylander and buy the car. That is low mileage and still can be taken care of and get lotsa miles. My Civic has 205K and is the only car I own - peace!
