96 Taurus ABS light On

Everything seems OK with the brake. I have checked the Pads and Fluid. When starting the car the ABS comes on then goes out after few seconds I can back out of the driveway and all is good, but as soon as i start driving forward the ABS light comes on and will not go out.

HELP!!!!! If someone can, thanks in advance....

I just had mine diagnosed and they said it was the abs pump ($1000)
not suprizing is it?
