H22 in a 4th gen

Aight, so I know that its a bitch just to get one of these monsters into a 5th gen, but I think it would be so cool if maybe in a couple of years, to drop one of these into a 4th gen sedan, and people would be like "look at that pos" and then I would blow em out the water.

Custom mounts im sure would be needed but is there even anyone out there who has tried this? Links would be appricieated.

A guy that used to live around here had one in a CRX... I only saw it once, but the engine looked like it BARELY fit in there... kind of makes me wonder what happened to that guy and his car though... hmmm

As for the H22a itself... make sure you know what kind of engine you are getting into before you do... I used to have one in my 91 Accord, and it was fast, but for the Kind of power you're getting from it, in a smaller car a GSR engine or Type R engine would seem to be just as affective to me... I mean, it was a great engine... major torque monster, but you don't 'need' that kind of power in our cars, cause they are so light, the power would be waisted in the time you spend spinning your tires.

at least.. that's my opinion

then get some better tires, and practice your takeoffs a little.

my mechanic dropped one in a 91 hatch about 4 months ago and the dude is loving it. you diffently have to do some cutting and some custom mounts to make it fit. room for headers and all that is gonna be close. but then again. why. you really dont need them with this engine. lol

Ah - my fellow 4th genners. Anything is possible...

The last time I checked, the Prelude was the vehicle designed to have a h22a in it.
I point you to the good ol' faithful hybrid archive page. --> http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/tech/4gtech.html#prelude

Wouldnt it hurt handling a lot to have such a huge engine in our lil cars. I suppose it would be better in a sedan than a hatch or crx though. But still.... that engine huge.

I was looking around about that swap a while ago and I came across a few bad things about it! first was the understeer. having so much weight in the front apparently causes someserious understeer. but the big one was when i found that you have to do some cutting and stuff. they said that it can actually weake the car and if you are in an accident the car can crumble. so seeing this I decided against it. But then again it was just one site thathad that info.....this is not my opinion just what I have read so if I am wrong someone plaese correct me!:D

that rwd 4th gen on its first ever pass, posted mid 12s. its only running drag radials, idk why not slicks, but hey whatever

the h22a's bottom end is completely stock, he used to have it in a delsol that ran 11s. but i think since it was there first run, they would take it easy with a 12. idk

i was reading the new turbo magazine today in school *i think it was the new one* and it had a front cross member? for 88-91 civics and crx's and it allowed 8 more inches of clearance in the front, it was pretty tight lookin, it had a smaller radiator attatched to it like the 92-95 style, didnt say how much it costed tho
