Ok, has anyone put an autometer or other aftermarket gauge for oil temperature? If so where did you put the sensor? I thought about just modifying the drain plug to work, but the size is too close and the car is metric where the sensor is 3/8 pipe thread.

AHHHHHHRRRRRRGGGGG!!!

And really, would anyone in their right mind drill and tap into the oil pan and risk starting something on fire??

Help

I would say you got a couple options. the one I would do is put an oil cooler on and mount the sensor in the oil cooler line that would be the easiest and then you would have an oil cooler too, and put a real oil pressure sensor in too. another option is splice off the stock oil pressure sending sensor back by the oil filter for directions on this see the how to section of installing a super charger pretty simple and will work well. but i wouldnt mount it in the oil pan because its far too low to the ground and you'd risk a chance of ripping it out.

Ok, the oil temp sensor is about the same size as the drain plug. It has to be in a place where it is constantly immersed in oil. Thus, it needs to be somewhere where alot of oil flows over it. Putting it in a cooler line will not work. I guess I am going to have to tap the drain plug for a larger size and mount it there.
