I have a 97 Accord with an f22 SOHC ... but cam gears are not that helpful unless you have a DOHC engine. I was plannig on getting AEM underdive pulleys, but wondering if that would even increase the extra ponies. If i install both, would tey benefit helping each other out, or should i just stick with the Pulleys? thanks ahead of time

Well cam gear for your car does alot when u have a cam. It helps you tune your car easier.

pulleys reduce the strain on your engine, freeing up a slight amount of hp. cam gears on a sohc, they are helpful, but you cannot control the intake and exhaust cams, independently, so it is not as helpful as on a dohc engine.

i think the underdrive pulley's is a good investment. people seem to get alot out of those pulleys, like 5 whp

Tominos: I know cam gears are a good investment in general, but since my car is automatic and an SOHC, is it worth the extra 150 dollars to buy?? The ponies raised are about 2-3, comparesd to 10-12 on an DOHC. Pulleys are also a good investment and i am probably going to purchase them. But since i can not adjust the intake and exhaust, is it worth the money??

civickiller: thanks for the help, i wasn't sure on the amount of horsepower, but thanks for the estimate

cam gears don't do shit unless u have cams or cam (sohc). Its not as good as dohc but it helps. It makes a whole lot of difference if u get cam. Trust me go for it.
