So here's a question, can you guys tell Im itchin to do alot of stuff to my car? But the real question is what's the average cost, and difficulty rating (1-10) on buying and installing a moonroof on a 92 hatch?
My first honda was a 94 ex with a roof, and I really miss it - it made smoking in the winter so much easier -
so in your experience all, what cha think?
thanks

go to the junkyard and buy headliner roof and all other parts (sliders switches) probley run u $200 give or take..as for the install i would bring it to a body shop to be done..that way #1 u have someone to blame if job is crap and #2 you know it will be alined correctly..i'd say a total of $600 mabye to have this done.....
or u could just quit smoking:bandit: :smoka: :smoker2: :smoker: :bonghitte

i have only heard bad things about getting a moonroof or sunroof installed by a body shop. there are too many things involved with it to go wrong. if you miss it that much, just get a car that already has it.

I work at a body shop and I'd cut off a roof with a sunroof and weld the whole roof onto my car before I tried to put in a sunroof. :D

WOOOOOOW, so it's really that difficult eh?
sheesh, well if you guys are all screamin no, then perhaps I should reconsider. I can't emagine it being that hard. Cut a whole, put some gaskets in the hole, make sure the glass frame fits, stuff it full of sealer, run the wires, and off you go...
buuuuuut, you guys know what you're doing more so than I, so unless convinced otherwise, Im gonna take your word for it.

Seriously you gyus are fuc.king ass.holes this isnt the 80's ...ther are shops that do it the right way and there will be no leaks...i d say if you want it done right dont necessarily looks for the shop that does it for the cheapest price.
P.S why do you guys always have negative respones:flipa:

negative responses come because life is not called 'happy-fun time'. just because you can pay someone a lot of money to do something, does not mean that it can be done well. from experience (experience being the key word here), no one can give a good reason to install an aftermarket moonroof. not many people try and do this to their cars, and the few people that do it are very rarely happy with the results. not even the car companies can do it flawlessly, so why expect the bodyshop guys that have far less experience to do any better? if it were me i would do like kicker says and cut the entire roof off, rather than try and cut a whole in it.

OOooorrrr...I could just suck it up and not have one...win the lottery and buy a new car with a moon roof. :) Seriously though, me thinks you guys are right, as some friends of mine agree with, aftermarket roof equals water inside.
Of course I could always cut in some bad ass T-tops from an 1987 IROC, yeah that's it! :bandit: :bloated:
