Soooo....After Mr T tried to make a pissing contest of what speedos reaxh ( :finger: )

I thought I'd ask- what does your speedo in your car(s) go up to?

The FIAT is 220 km/h

The Alfa was 260 km/h :(

My speedo tops out at 130 mph, but the car doesn't stop at 130. :)

Well the Civic is speed limited to 180kph, and so the speedo only goes upto 190kph. But I know guys in Europe have had them at the rev limiter in 5th and showing 240kph, so thiers goes to at leat 250kph on the VTi. (my civic sold in europe in limited numbers)

But the lynx has a VDO speedo that goes to 300kph.
Although haveing the aerodynamics of a brick it will never actualy go that fast. :D

UKSupraboy

180kph/mph. (will be explained!)

The Supra (now sold) was a Jap import, where all cars are limited to 180kph.

Fitted a 5/8 converter (I think thats what it was called) getting rid of the speed limiter changing kph to mph on the speedo. That means that when the speedo read 100kph you were actually doing 100 mph.

260

My Sentra = 160 kph
My Caprice = 140 kph

Sad, because the sentra needs to be going down a big hill with a tail wind to get to 160, and the caprice easily buries the needle and never looks back. I really have no idea how fast it would go, since I removed the limiter....

220 kmh (140 mph) on my Lancia Delta, real to speed 180kmh (115 mph)
260 kmh (165mph) on the Peugeot 406, real speed of 210 kmh (130 mph).
230 kmh (145 mph) on the Citroën Evasion, for real speed of 195 kmh (122 mph).

In general, models sold in Europe have 40 kmh (25mph) of marge on their tachymeter.

My speedo goes to 130, and then pegs a hair higher than that. I've never tried it myself, but I've heard stories of people redding in 5th and completely buring the needle, so it could probably take a lil more.

180 mph (for the VR4s)

Truck 110, can't get it past 80 downhill
Galant 120 methinks, only gotten to 100
Intrigue 140, only gotten to 115 trying to catch a friend in an E55, stupid cop scared me though.

85. :toothless

That'd be in my 89 Jeep Cherokee 4.0

125 in the Honda. I've pegged the needle several times.

hit my limiter many times with pleanty to go, now if I had a use for over 140 THEN I would change the chip, but untill then ;)

1984 Dodge Daytona: 85MPH, never tested that, didn't dare.
1985 AMC Jeep Wagoneer: 85MPH, only made it to 75MPH at redline. The 2.8L V6 was a sack of crap.
1989 Chrysler LeBaron GTC: 125MPH, let's just say it went a lot faster than that. I had the needle wrapped back up to 35MPH with room on the tach to spare.
1994 Eagle Vision TSi: 120MPH, the fastest I have been in this car was 105MPH. I don't dare go any faster cause’ the front tires aren't balanced.

87 olds cutlass supreme 140km/h gone wayyy past this very stable at higher speeds
89 volvo 760 turbo well never found top speed yet...but its registered for 240 km/h probably be able to do over 200 if i pushed it
88 volvo 740 gle my bros old car pretty slow fastest we ever had it was 180km/h downhill
86 monte carlo ls 140 km/h same as the cutlass
89 supra mk3 n/a
well we don't have it on the road yet only got to drive it once and we had it doin about 160-170 in an 80 zone :D

The Marquis shows 85 mph with two additional ticks on the gauge, so figure 89 mph being its indicated top speed. I've gotten it up to maybe 87, which is horrifying in that car, but I know my brother has pinned the speedo. Couldn't have been doing much over 90 though.

The Integra shows.. I think 140 mph, with enough ticks to show 149/150. The fastest I've gotten her up to is 135, and that is just scary to me, so I try not to get it up that fast. I do know of Integra drivers who have pinned their speedos, supposedly with stock cars, so it would seem that it can do right about 150 (though I have to think that the speedo loses accuracy in that range, because I don't think that a stock integra should be able to go that fast).

So annoying, having all these numbers in two different measurement systems. I'll post the exact conversion factor soon (though I know off-hand that 1 mile = roughly 1.6 kilometer, so divide or multiply the above numbers accordingly to better understand the top speeds on a universal scale).

EDIT: Here's the exact conversion factor

1.609344 km/hour = 1 mile/hour

Tops out @ 250 km/h which is about 155 mph. Evidently, the manufacturer claims the car will do 138 mph or about 220km/h. I suspect with some narrower tires and some fairly simple and temporary mods that this could be increased though I'd be concerned doing any sustained run with any tire with a speed rating of less than ZZ or Y even the current W Rated would be marginal.

LHD has some advantages ie you get to change gear with my dominant hand (ie RH) but is confusing when I want to do a handbrake turn - I kept reaching for the door handle when I drove the A-Class while I was in Europe this year. And with all those narrow lanes in the villages and the predilection for the EBA to kick when I did the left foot braking, the handbrake became the weapon of choice for bringing the tail around (despite the ESP wagging its finger at me constantly.... did someone say Moose?)

And I haven't been around much is kicker still consuming bandwidth unnecessarily, Jimmy any thoughts?

I'm talking about a lynch mob here but he does need a little lesson. It doesn't have to be immediate but at some stage soon I am going to nail him. I haven't even thought of how but I betting that Kevin, Jared and Grant will be keen too...
Oh and 'Naki you can opt out if this is against the rules...

good place to start is Google image search.Choose a pic of anything you want, must be 100 x100 or less, save it to your hard drive ,then upload it through the 'edit profile' option.

The rest of you, STFU or go read the user guidelines.
