Metallic blue with white stripes would look great with those rims. Those rims look sweet with the Camaro.

If I was doing another Camaro
My choices would be:
1. Black with White Stripes
2. Metalic Blue with Black Stripes
3. White with Black stripes

I have a 70 Z-28 painted Hugger Orange with Black Stripes that I did 10 years ago with Fred Cady decals on it. Wanna see some pics???

One question, who makes the kit? AMT/Ertl??? The kit I did in Orange was a AMT kit and it was pretty bad. Yours looks more accurate than the one I have. Also the one I have is 1/25 scale so the body looks smaller than the 1/24 Revell kits.

It's also cool that the BB Chevy engine shows the valvetrain in the head. It would look very cool if you superdetailed the rockers and left one side of the valve covers off.

One trend is a thing called Pro Touring in which the body looks Restored but there is current technology engines and drivetrains installed in the car. Some people use Current Corvette suspensions, transmissions and engines in the 60's cars. Buy a issue of Popular Hot Rodding to see some of these cars.

Yes we want pics!!!:D That should be the new tool of that kit versus the old off-proportion kit from a few years ago (bad memories!:( ) I'm doing the Pro Touring thing to a '70 Monte Carlo; I got all the stuff, just no time to do it!! :(

Looks phat. What about doing red stripes? I want to do a satin black 68 SS Camaro with a blown 454 Chevy big block, I got the engine, all I need is the model.

AccordTypeR: I wouldn't call chrome "bling bling" Gold is the ultimate Bling, thats why my 1994 Impala SS Lowrider is covered in it! Keep it Pimp'n!

Here is a pic of my camaro: Sorry I don't have more, my 2.5 year old son came in while I was trying to take a pic and wanted to play with the car.

This was the first model I did post childhood. Also the first I sprayed with a airbrush. I resurrected it from the parts box and gave it a nice Tamiya compound.

Hope it is acceptable. All I know is I need to learn how to take a picture.

You mean to tell me it's been in a parts box:eek: !Why?

It was in a Tamiya box for a long time, 10 years. The paint on the roof had a mark on it and it also had some small cracking of the paint. Also, since I didn't clear the decals the striping on the spoiler had some rips. I thought it was done for and was ready to put it into a container of CSC. I just got a tube of Tamiya Compound and decided to test it out on this model. It did wonders. Very little of the paint came off since it has been drying for 10 years but it made it real shiny and took off most of the cracking. It kinda looks decent now. To bad the stripes are a little bad.

The AMT kit was real bad compared to the monogram ones. The engine and engine compartment looks like crap so I decided to make it a curbside model. The rims are BBS from a Porsche model I had.

Hey since it is already Black, have you ever thought of Black with Silver striping??

Do the Baldwin stripe on the side in silver. That might look cool.

Just a thought.

but shouldn't the engine be orange?!?!?!?

MaukaRunner

His engine is orange. Engine color is a preference thing. You could paint it silver to simulate a ZL-1 or you could paint it orange with silver heads to be a Aluminum head big block. I painted my 331 small block in my real Camaro Red since I don't like the Orange engine look. It depends on your preference. When I fixed a broken crank on my engine I painted it Black so I didn't have to clean it so often.

Clarification, I painted the engine black not the crank. Trying to type too fast before I get the server busy screen.
