The 88 CRX Si came with one other option that was only available in 88, a passive 4 wheel steering system, I think it only came on black CRX's cuz every single one I've seen that has it was black.
The passive 4 wheel steering is mainly meant to work at low parking lot speeds to decrease the turn radius when manuvering in in cramped spaces, but it was a rather expensive option that was discontinued in 89.
I hear that Backyard Special makes makes some sort of override that is supposed to allow the 4 wheel steering to work at higher speeds, which is great for autocross. But I'm still not sure if the rear steering is mechanically or electronically controlled
I recently acquired a full 88 Si rear suspension setup to put onto my 90 hf, so far it seems to be a direct bolt on affair, but with one draw back, if you plan on installing a full coilover setup, plan on doin alot of searching and spending alot of cash. Also, trying to convert drums to discs, look like it's gonna be a nightmare. I'm not even sure if the rear steering is going to work since I still have yet to find out what else I'm going to need, so if anyone else has done the conversion, any help would be appreciated.....

hey djakira36, that's great, because i just found a 88 crx si ( and it is black, though i'm sure that doesn't matter). i think i'm gonna buy it and sell my car because my civic is in such great cond. and with low miles that i can get a lot from it and then buy this crx for cheap. it is cheap because it has 259K miles on it, but i'm doin a engine swap so that is not an issue. i hope what you say is true, because i have heard something about them having some kind of better rear susp. i'm probly gonna go check out the car on sat. thanks for the info people and sorry for the essay i just wrote.
