can I put the RB26DETT(skyline engine) in a 96+ 240sx or any skyline engine in it for that matter

I don't see why not. I saw one in a old 240Z.

Yes you can though you will need to change a lot of things such as transmission, driveshaft, ecu, the fuel pump, front springs in your car as the blocks are quite heavy to mention a bit.

I would suggest an SR20DET as it is alloy block. Trust has an SR20DET in an S14 Silvia. With a T88/33D turbo on it and have wacked out just over 700hp with thier combination. So if your looking for power don't over look the SR motors as they are damn strong.

You will also have to look at parts available and overall cost. An RB26DETT is not cheap even in the states. A bare block would sell for over $2,000 USD plus shipping, and finding a second hand one that is not stressed or stuffed would be another matter.

yea, do not overlook the sr20det engine. Even though it doesn't get the recognition of the rb26dett, it can do just as much damage. Especially if you want to keep the car trackable, the lighter engine will help keep f/r weight ratios closer.

Yeah, that and the SR20DET is much cheaper.

Another good choice that is overlooked is the CA18DET, which can make mover 350hp on it's stock internals. These motors go for about half the cost of an SR20DET.

Yeah, if you want a good 300-400hp go with SR20DET. All the RB26DETT will do is give you a bunch of headaches, and a big dent in your pocket for what it's worth. Regardless I will never let up on the dream of a RB in the Z!

That's nothing! There's a place up here in Canada that'll do a CA18DET and tranny for $900

I'll probably get an SR20DET transverse setup from a Bluebird for my gokart project... Hey, it's cheaper than the H22A, and makes much better power :D

Well hook me up with some prices! Both RB26DETT and a VG30DETT. I hate to ask you to do that but I need the best deal I can get! Oh, or is there a web site? Crap around here is just so damn expensive. Every time a new shop opens crap is 2x as expesive as older ones. So, If you could help me out that would be great! Thanks buddy!

Got it! It used to be www.jspecengines.8m.com, back when they were one a freehost site... Now it's www.jspecauto.com

They want $2800 USD for a VG30DETT, and $4800 for the RB26DETT... I would forget about the RB, they're just too expensive. The reason I'm going to be dealing with these guys is that they're in Canada, which makes the border/importing hassles non existant.

You would be much better off finding a place in the US, it'll save you a lot of money and paperwork.

All the places I've found in the U.S. are so damn expensive. Even the Japanese import co. aren't as expensive as some of the ones here.

There's always somebody giving a good deal, ask around the Nissan forums. Someone will know where to get a good price in the US. Good luck :)
