Does anyone have, or know how to remove the entire mirror assembly on a '99 Outback? The mirror is powered and has some broken plastic pieces, and I figure before I go crazy trying to remove it without any knowledge, I'd at least ask here first. Thanks in advance.

On my Impreza, it's on with 3 screws hidden by a snap-on plastic cover, all in the front triangle of trim at the front of the door. But you also have to remove the door card to be able to unplug the switch. I can't find anything about removing Legacy door cards...

I had to replace one on my wifes '99 Outback when it got hit. You'll have to remove the cover on the inside of the door, and that will expose (IIRC) three fasteners. I don't recall if the mirror has studs that protrude into the door frame or if they're screws that go from the inside out, but they'll be obvious. I seem to recall that the power connector for the mirror was a bit of a PITA to get to, so you may have to wrestle with it. It's really not too tough to replace the assembly.
