underachieving spec V

Don't get me wrong in saying this. Nissans are good cars, (I used to have a 240sx) but whats all the hype the the new spec V. Granted its a large improvment over a standard sentra or something, but Nissan has way over done it on the hype. In my town alone, I can think of at least 12 spec v's running around here (mostly with just i/h/e) but they all think they are badass. The other day i was driving through town and i saw one with a kit and i could hear exhaust. So this idiot is riding my ass reving his engine behind me at each light. Well i saw i was coming up on a side road with no traffic so i stuck my arm out the window and motioned him to turn right (which i dont usually do but this guy was pissing me off). I turn and slow down to 5000 rpm in first and let him pull in front of me. Then he floors it, i rev to 8000 and slam into second. Before i even get to third gear im already a car lenght ahead so keep going and put some distance between us then i braked. He catches up and says "i hear you have some turbo under there" like its nothing compared to his car. He says he has a 75 shot and purges it, then floors it again. So i just pulled him again though this time it wasnt as bad. The guy was a moron. So anyways, what are the specs on that thing? I had just thought it would be more with all the advertising hype.

Completely off the topic... all the people out there that lose a race and floor it past the winner when they have clearly won and braked, need to quit that crap. It just makes you all look retarded and i read about people doin that shit post after post.

you cant get on him too bad you do have a turbo charged gsr, i mean lancer drivers around here are like they think they are badass cuz they have a lancer, i know this guy he thinks hes badass i was talkin to him i was like what do you have done he reved all i heard was intake i doubt he has a header and he has stock exaust, he thinks his car is so bad ass cuz he has the oz rally edition or whatever and stickers all over it, ill show him one day just how quick he is :finger:

the nissan spec v is a 2.5L I-4 16 valve with displacement (cc 2500/ci 153) Horsepower is rated at 175@6000 and torque of 180@4000. Curb weight is around 2708. More of a torque based motor, but an ingenious design never the less. good kill :)

Thanks and i definatley agree with both of you. I'm not hating on the spec v at all. A driver should just come to and realize his/her limitations and not be jerks about it. Its just that the whole ricer thing kills me. They cause a sterotype for us that are actually serious about our cars.

im not hating there pretty good motors an all but with that weight it seems like it 1320 time will be pretty slow what is it? horsepower seems low for that displacement but the torque sounds good :D

according to automobile magazine the spec v raan with tem a 16.0 @90 mph compared to a 1.8 gti civic si mazda mp3 and svt focus it was the 2nd fastest car in the comparo
