Frothy Oil

I noticed it when I took my air filter off. It's coming from the tube that connects the air filter to the PCV hose. First of all what could be causing it to look like soda froth? And second is there someway or something to fix? This frothy mixture shoots straight into the carburator which I'm sure is not good for it.

Maybe 100 miles or so ago I replaced the PCV valve. I also proceeded to clean the hose out with carb cleaner and I flushed it until the fluid came out clear. Are there anymore suggestions that you have that I could try out. Thanks.

My 95 Metro does the same thing. I have about 137,000 miles on it. Only thing that seems to help is Lucas oil stabilizer. Not a long term fix but helps until I decide if I want to spend the money on engine rebuild.

What is Lucas oil stabilizer and what does it do? Also what does it cost for a bottle of it?

My Metro was going through a lot of oil. Not leaking it but going somewhere. Probably needs rings and valves. Lucas oil cut way down on consumption. You can get it at just about any auto store. You can also google lucas oil and read about it.

Not a long term fix mind you

If you live in a very cold climate and your metro doesn't get warmed up enough, you will find all kinds moisture condensation in the valve cover, pcv hose and under the oil fill cap. I have 2 metros and they both do this in the winter only.

I can't say that Idaho gets that cold.
