Why do you want to rebuild it???
What is planned to be machined in this rebuild?
What do you want out of the motor afterwards?
Most shops can not match the quality of GM's bore and hone or valvejob, don't be too quick to let some hack mess them up.
The factory rotating assembly is rather good too.
My motor is making 470-520hp depending who you ask and what rating correction they apply, the bottomend is completely untouched except for a metal sleeved oil pump driveshaft and a higher pressure relief spring in the stock oil pump. Never even looked at the bearings of slide a piston out of a bore.
