Bleed Brakes

If I want to replace my brake fluid (as part of regular maint), what is the best way to bleed they system without having to have the ABS unit bled with a scan tool? Can I just bleed each line at the caliper while keeping the reservoir full, or is having the ABS unit bled unavoidable?

02 1500.

Thanks in advance.

As long as you keep the fluid full, you shouldn't need to activate the ABS solenoids, you just won't be replacing the fluid in the ABS circuit. I would suck as much old fluid out of the reservoir and replace with new before you begin.

Sounds good, thanks. I just don't want to have to mess with having someone bleed the ABS.

a turkey baster works well for removing the fluid from the master :grinyes:
