Newb need help:
HK12X2 Subs, 12inchers. 1500 RMS. 2 Ohm.
-Already have them.
Needing AMP:
MA Audio has HK2000D Monoblock. Now mono means I can only run one sub off of it? Or what? Its 1800RMS @ 1 Ohm.
Can I run both 12's off of one, having 1800 push to each sub? Or since its Mono, i can only run one?
Need Help Badly

mono just means it only has one channel, you can run as many speakers as you like on it. The only thing is, you have to watch the total impedance. In your case, you can wire those 2 subs in parallel to make a 1 ohm load that the amp is most powerful at. As for power, it is divided equally among the speakers - so 2 speakers will see 900 watts each.

How about the MA Audio HK802SX amp. Its rated 4400 watts @ 1 ohm when bridged. So I can run my two HK12's to it, when wired parrell, and get 2200 watts to each sub?

i would be putting money into electrical before you even think about buying an amp. You wont be able to run over 1krms on a stock electrical... You're stupid if you think you can run this so called "4400wrms' off a stock altenator.

not to mention most MA amps are rated at like 16v. So unless you have a serious alt or a dedicated alt for car audio you will never see the rated power... even with perfect voltage you wont see rated power.

ok, that's what it was ... they are rated at a rediculous voltage

I thought it was 18v. I like it when amps are actually rated at 12v, but thats even hard to find today.
I wouldnt trust those subs with 1000 watts to a pair let alone 3k. Look into an Autotek mm4000.1d, if you want real wattage.

the new CEA ratings specify 14.4 volts for power input. It's ok as long as everyone agrees to the standards.

OK, well. I just purchased a HK802SX (4400 RMS @ 17v). Im getting an Optima Yellow Top.. but I need a capacitor.. what type.. as in Farads, would be recomended..for the last TIME. what do you not understand about you CAN'T run over 1krms off a stock altenator, You can put a trunk full of batterys and 50 caps your still not going to be able to run it!!!!!!!
Have fun replacing that amp when you blow it, first drop below 11v that amp pops.
Whats recommend is stop buying junk (i know I sound like an ass here) but MA audio anything is pure crap (over rated subs, over rated amps, over rated everything). You coulda bought a decent setup AND a charging system for the money you dropped on those two items
You're NEVER going to get 4400rms from that amp, 3000wrms clean power if your lucky (@ 17V+). Oh yea, notice how its at 17v? You do know cars electrical is 12-14v? with that amp your gonna drop well below 11v, probably making 1000rms IF your lucky. Not to mention probably blow the amp due to poor charging system.

I agree, you're trying to buy equipment that is designed for high level SPL comps. You will also need the oversized electrical system to go with it.
