Anyone opened the sprocket cover before

I have a 96 Altima GXE. The manual said in order to remove the sprocket cover, I need to take off the passenger side front engine mount, and the bracket to get access to one bolt.

I took off the engine mount, and three 17mm bolts on the engine mount bracket, but the bracket refuses to get off. Did I miss some bolts, or should I hammer it off? Thank you.

Happy Holiday.

What are you trying to get to, the timing chain?

I want to fix the timing chain noise by removing the timing chain guide and change the tensioner.

Thanks for the reply.

I haven't replaced it on mine, but yeah if you have all the bolts off I beleive the cover should come off. I doubt the bracket will come off though to answer your question.

I've figured it out. The motor mount bracket has 4 bolts instead of 3. Besides the three 14 mm bolts, there is another 12 mm bolt in the lower area.
