Runs worse with new cap and rotor

I have a 1999 Blazer with the 4.3L engine. Because the engine would not start when it rained, I replaced the cap and rotor, thinking the cap was cracked. Now the engine starts right away, but runs rough. It ran fine before (when it was dry). I checked all the wires, and I did not cross any. I unplugged and re-plugged each wire to make sure it was connected properly. Any suggestions?

Recheck the wires on the driver side of the cap. From front to rear they are: #1, #5, #3. On the passenger side they are: #2, #4, #6.

I agree with OM. It is a pretty common mistake to put the wires in the wrong spot the first time you change them. All the wires on the cap go in order of their placement on the engine except for #1 and #3 which are reversed. It looks like OM mistakenly posted the incorrect firing order it should be as follows:

6...5
(pass. side) 4...1 (driver side)
2...3
(front of engine)
