I have a 2004 VUE Redline with about 40k on it.
At about 30k the tire were shot. I was quoted $300 a corner for replacement 245-50-18 stock tires. I went to Tire Rack and found 235-50-18 for $77. I went for all four of them. 10k miles later, I'm getting what seems to be ABS brake pedal pulsations when the brakes are applied. It does not do this with every brake application, however. Is it possible that the ABS is now reacting to the different tire size, or that the tires have sufficiently worn down enough to confuse the system?

I've never heard of ABS issue with a different tire size.... but it could be possible. Since you are not getting a trouble light with this braking issue, I would say maybe you brakes are getting a little low now causing the vibration... another possibility is maybe one of the calipers are binding a little when stopping causing that feeling.
