1992 dakota not charging

I have a 92 dakota 4wd 3.9 the gauge shows its not charging but once in a while it will start to charge as normal I dont drive it at night it showing codes 12,and code 41 ,while looking for an alternator online I noticed a note that said if the crank sensor is bad the altenator wont charge and the other problem I live in the middle of nowhere any advice would be appreciated befor I take it out and go to town This truck has had tons of electrical gremlins....

I have the exact same problem replace computer and had alternater checked twice . still no resolve. swapped the starter relay still nothing. battery is holding a charge . power to computer power to alternator ; did you ever find anything

Check the body ground and make sure the engine ground is tight. Check any computer grounds. I've found loose grounds cause a lot of nuisance type problems. Especially something that works sometimes.

Hello I ended up finding multiple ground points disconnected and or just cut when someone swapped a motor also my alternator had an intermittent fault sometimes would charge sometimes wouldnt replace it and some grounds and its fine now on to my next headache.................
