1995 CV shuddering during acceleration

I have a 95 CV that I am trying to sell for my younger brother. I took the car out with the kids tonight and noticed that during normal acceleration from a stop or going slow the car seems to shudder in gears 1, 2, and three. If I lay the gas to her hard though it will not do this. I wonder it this is a torque converter issue? Or do I have a bad plug wire or similiar? I do know that the 3800 GM V-6 was known for acting this way if a plug wire was going bad and am curious if a Ford would act the same way. I hope I don't have to tell little bro that he has tranny issues:uhoh: The car has 113,000 miles on her and otherwise runs like a bunny, although the fuel pump reset in the trunk decided to pop out at the intersection of a busy higway, scaring the crap out of me.Any one else have this?
Thanks

My tranny was acting the same way.. I did a tranny flush, converter too and it took care of the problem... good luck.. Let us know how you make out

Took care of the problem, thanks for the info. I drained the converter and added Lubeguard additive, I have had good luck over the years with it. I went about half and half with Valvoline Full Syn Mercon V and the regular stuff from the local Ford dealer. She shifts just like a new one now.

Funny thing though, after about the 10th quart it quit going down the fill tube, I am wondering if I should have started it up to pull the converter full and then added the rest? Oh well, made a little mess but it's done now.Lesson learned:iceslolan

great job... thanks for the feedback... yes you can start it and let it flow just don't drive it. then check, work through the gear and keep checking.

A well known tranny shop in the area always said if it a little high it will just kick the extra out of the vent. I don't know how I feel about that but I just thought I would pass it along
