:shakehead i would like to know if the twilight sentinel package was EVER AVAILABLE on an 87 landau. i have come across quite a few 87s with every other option except the twilight sentinel. if you POSSESS SUCH A VEHICLE WITH THAT FACTORY ORIGINAL OPTION AND I STRESS FACTORY ORIGINAL!! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME PICS FOR MY PERSONAL EDIFICATION. IF THIS WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE 87 LANDAU IT WILL BE FOR MINE VERY SHORTLY(DASH SWAP).I WONDER HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE BEFORE PICS START POPPING UP WITH THAT MODIFICATION ON IT? GET READY GET SET GO!!!!:nono:

Never seen one myself. My 85 B-car service manual does NOT show it.
However, my 89 B-car service manual DOES.

I do know it was available in 1988 model cars, an old sales brochure I had for 1988 specified it as an option. I am not sure about 1987, but it wouldn't surprise me. I believe the 1988 options were largely carried over from 1987.

in the 1985 thru 1987 Buick Regals you could specifically ordered your Turbo Buick with the RPO T82 thats a twilight sentinel package. my 86 shop manual is not showing that package. it's an "around tuit thing" for installs and mods. couperyda your bad for stirring up my grey matter. 463 here is a link : http://www.gnttype.org/numbers/rpo.html

thanks for the research fellas.i know for a FACT that the twilight sentinel package was offered in 87 because i owned an 87 BROUGHAM with that option on it.unfortunately that car was STOLEN and the 87 owners manual right along with it.back then i wasnt into the coupe versions of the caprice.then i stumbled onto the LAST PRODUCTION CAPRICE COUPE EVER MADE TO DATE!! (I KNOW CHEVY WILL BRING IT BACK EVENTUALLY). I JUST NEED TO KNOW IF THAT OPTION WAS AVAILABLE FOR THE LANDAU COUPE. hopefully someone has a LANDAU with that option or can cross reference with a manual of some type.

If it was an option in 1987, it applied to all models and not just the Brougham. You could get it on a base level Caprice.

This won't help you much but here's a fine example of an '87 Landau without twilight sentinel. It's got everything else though so if this was an option on your '87 Brougham I don't see why they wouldn't have had that in all the Landaus too. Weird. I'll check my '87 sales brochure when I get home. What I want to know is if there were any two-tone Landaus and if so, how was it layed out?

in my search for the ULTIMATE LANDAU CREAMPUFF i HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS AN 87 LANDAU TWO TONE.the only 87 sport coupes that came in two tone were all HARDTOP! no LANDAU as of yet. i have come across 3 different two tone SPORT COUPES.the first was a two tone gray(dark top half light bottom) the second was blue(dark top half light bottom)and last but not least was the two tone brown(dark top half light bottom).once again NEITHER OF THOSE came with twilight sentinel.in my ignorance i refused to believe that they were 87s because they were not LANDAUS(UNTIL I CHECKED THE VIN#s).i have a couple of questions about your landau:does it have DUAL POWER SEATS or just POWER DRIVER'S SEAT,did it come with the GAUGE PACKAGE or STANDARD (RECTANGULAR)DASH and what ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION did it come with?(200 4r OR 700r4). also did it come with a 5.0 or a 4.3 ? I AM ASKING WHAT THE CAR CAME WITH O R I G I N A L L Y before you made M O D I F I C A T I O N S..................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both seats are power, it's got the guage package (but I'm taking that out for the police speedo), it came with the 5.0 and 200r4. The original color was burgundy.
I'm a big fan of the '87 Landau and the standard coupe too, I consider it the 57 Chevy of the 80s. You got pics of yours? What do you know about the Landau trim extending onto the header panel? In the dealer sales brochure one of the pictures looks to have that extra couple inch long piece and another picture looks like it's not there. Mine didn't have it when I got it but I've found some since then for it.

it seems to me that you have an OFFICIAL CREAMPUFF! CONGRATULATION. as far as pics are concerned i am not that technologically advanced as of yet(just recently got an email address and i dont wholeheartedly know how to use that to its full potential). anyway,in inexplicable concurrence to the dealer brochures i have encountered some with the extra trim and some without(i do not know if said trim was missing or never came with vehicle at all). i would like to know if you or anyone else knows if factory leather came in an 87 LANDAU?

Not sure on that one, I will be getting my door panels and seats recovered sometime soon and had planned on keeping to the stock burgundy cloth. But if leather was an option for those years I might as well upgrade. I'm kind of a pureist when it comes to keeping things cosmetically stock. I have considered trying to get a hold of a burgundy leather rear seat from a brougham and having my fronts done to match with the pillowtop and all.

on that note i talked to a guy in las vegas that had his 87 coupe done brougham style with suede and leather.it was a custom job but it wasnt a custom job(if you catch my drift).pics left a lot to be desired cosmetically even though the pics were as clear as a las vegas summer day.i have also considerably pondered the thought of redoing the existing front seats brougham style while the back seat would be from a real brougham.then i had an epiphany of some sort.since no one rides in the back seat of my car anyway get you some leather brougham seats from an 89 -90 because they are full power and possess the recline lever.i personally could care less about the seats folding forward anyway.finished product coming soon

here's one in Winnipeg up for auction http://www.mpi.mb.ca/salvage/SlvgItmImg.asp?salenm=1054&itemnm=185 it looks not to bad at all for 55193 Kilometers = 34,295.340213 Miles on the car mind you it may have 2 or 3 times the miles on it as 62000 miles or 100000 km this would show 00000 kms and start over.

That is a nice coupe but there are plenty of those for sale. We're talking '87s here. I wonder how many '87 coupes are still on the road...
