I have used Finisher's paint many times.I am not 100% certain but I don't think thinning with isopropyl alcohol will work. The Finishers is not really an acrylic paint in the same guise as the Tamiya stuff. It is more a lacquer based type paint. The best thinner to use is Finishers own pure thinner available separately or if you can't get that use any regular lacquer thinner which I have used before and it works very nicely. If you use either of these to thin the paint you won't get any problems of it going matt. Also if you thin the Tamiya paint with the correct Tamiya thinner it will stay gloss as well.

Thank you very much. I can't get a hold of finishers thinner since i would have to order it from japan. One more question, I can use the thinner that came with my auto clear right?

Yes,you can use the thinner from the Auto Clear set.It is the 'Pure Thinner' exactly the same.

Tamiya TS-Series (rattle can) paints are synthetic lacquer. They dry more slowly than real lacquer, but otherwise are about the same. Even thinned 1-1 with hardware store lacquer thinner, they retain their gloss if they're either sprayed wet or polished out.
