I dread driving my car anywhere, as it feels everytime I come out of the store, I spy a new door ding.

I don't want to be the jerk who takes up 2 spaces to avoid it. I usually try to park as far away from everyone as possible.

I know my car's not the nicest, but I put alot of work into restoring it. It just hurts that no one cares or is respectful of other people's property.

Tonight, with it being a Friday, I park away from the theatre and take up two spots. Usually I'm not that huge of a prick, but tonight I did.
I come out from work and someone had the douchy nerve to put a note on my car saying "your car's not that nice"

I park away from you refuktards so you don't touch my car.. but yet you feel it necessary to touch my windshield wiper to inform me that you don't approve of my car. Well good for them. I'd like to know what they drive that is so special.

Like the other day, I come out of the store, and find paint chips on my rear bumper and a handy-capped car parked really close behind me. I didn't see her do it, but I know she did, since it wasn't there when I left the house. I tried saying something to the lady and she just started yelling at me and left. I'm so mad!!!!

So what do you guys do? Any horror stories?

I just park away from everyone and check my car before I leave places if someone parked beside me.

My friend had a jetta and left his brother in the car while he went in the store real quick. Well someone parked beside his car and hit the jetta with their door. When he came back out and his brother told him what happened he preceded to kick the side of their car in and make a nice size dent.

That may be a little extreme but if I find a dent in my car bc someone parked wasn't paying attention, they wont get away scot free....

Yea people are such retards. I park away from everyone too. Its not that I think I have the hottest car in the world I would just rather not chance it and the extra walk means nothing.
I am always extremely careful round other peoples cars its a matter of respect.

The Talon already has some door dings and the paint/exterior isnt all that great anyway so I usually dont notice if I were to get another ding. When I first got the Cavy I found spider cracks in the paint on my back bumper with red smudges on everything... if that fuck had still been there when I came out of school I would have waited for them and beat ass. I would just try not to let it get to you... and I think your car is worthy of two spots. ;)

Yeah that sucks. I'm very careful about where I park. As long as I've been driving I've never gotten any dings of scatches (except for the ones that I did). When I park....I never park between two cars. I take up two spots quite often and I don't give a F***, if other people like it or not. When I go to big parking lots like the mall or walmart or something.....where ever the line of parked cars stop....I go down like 3 more lines to park just to make sure no one will park around me.

At school or at work I always park right beside a curb that way there can only be 1 car beside me. And I get as close to that curb as possible, like my rims are 2 inches from it. Seems to work well and it gives the other person plenty of room if they choose to park there.

Usually I do the curb thing, but all the curb spots were already taken, leaving an empty parking lot between the theatre and 2 restraunts and a hotel. It was just common sence that as it got later so many more cars would come. So I did the prick thing and take 2 spots. :D Ooops..

Once, getting off work, I saw a Escalade park next to me. I watch the doors fling open and hit my car. I yelled out to the guy "wtf you just hit my car" All he said was a facicious "oops".. so I go up to my car and swing open the door as fast/ hard as I could and the guy turned around, and all I had to say was "WOOPS, sucks huh?"
I think that's one of the only times I've door dinged someone on purpose or out of retaliation.

 Wow, that made me lol. I could probably never get away with something like that, in fact I'd probably get my ass kicked by the other guy.

But yeah I know what you mean, thats why I park my car as far away as possible from the others, even in the cold.

I've been lucky that nobody has door dinged my car, omg I would lose it. I remember one time I was just telling my gf that I hated when people opened my door into other cars and chipped the paint... she proceeds to open my door and hit another car.

I dropped her.

Last summer there was a huge field party that eventually moved to a shed. All the cars were designated to park on one side of the field. I parked way the fuck away from everyone, like literally 20 feet away on purpose because I knew some people were going to be dumb and drive home after drinking. I woke up the next morning and went to get into my car to drive home, and oh look, a massive fucking dent in my driver door. Some truck backed into me is my guess...

No matter what you do sometimes, it's going to happen. I just make sure to keep a baseball bat in my trunk for one of the good occasions that I catch the bastard or anybody else who dosn't have enough sense not to touch my car. Only got to use that bad boy once so far. Probably made up for all the times I didn't though.

I've never had an issue (knock on wood) with my car. But I also didn't spend any time making it look like a nice car. It still runs stock suspension, wheels, tires, no tint, exc.. Looks like a regular factory eclipse.. I didn't want the extra attention...

So true! I have never had a chance to retaliate back on someone who dented my doors, but you have to love it when old people roll down their windows to bitch at you about having your music too loud... and then you just crank it and make their windows rattle...

I can't do that anymore...

I bought a system for the Cobalt because I thought I would like it like I used to back in the day... Definitely not... I have old man ears now. It's disconnected and just setting in the trunk doing nothing... I'm gonna sell it off now. lol

Door dinged? LMFAO, that was good. Only had that happen once with some stupid ass seniors about 2.5 months ago. On Halloween they came around and paintballed my house and car, I cought up to them on a red light and procedeed to kick the fucking driver's side door and challenge him to get down and face me! Needless to say, he took off.

Now that I think about it, maybe it was the crow bar in my hand, LOL.:grinyes:

Usually when I park the talon, I don't really even give it much thought. It's already got plenty of door dings. Now the eclipse, I will try to find a spot in between nice cars. For example a BMW or any brand new car, that people will be more careful around. If all I come across are rusted out chevys with the bumper hanging half way off (which seems to be the average vehicle in SC), I steer clear, and try to find a parking spot out of harms reach.
