Was freakin' awesome! Sad too. But still awesome! Loved it and it didn't seem too short. Who else saw it!?!

Idk, there are parts that made my fiancee cried and I notice some other girls did too. There are some sad parts and some good scary parts where she'll get close.

But still sweet and funny. It's overall a very good movie. I watched the HBO first look and they said with how it's written and all, you'll cry with Will, laugh, be angry, and happy with Will throughout the movie. And I must say, I did feel every emotion. Killer movie.

It was a really good movie I thought. Very suspensful for sure. I love the part where he's like, "I saving that bacon for later!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I was told emphatically that it sucked... the movie, not the book

I'm still going to see it in the theatre though

I had such high hopes for this movie. Will Smith is such a great actor but this movie did not deliver AT ALL. It was a mix between Castaway, Resident Evil, Children of Men and a cheesy vampire movie. If Will Smith was not in this movie I am sure the reviews would have been very different. Here is a look at his next movie.

I havent seen it yet, glad thiers no spoilers in this thread. :D

From what I've heard on TV the box office sales went through the roof over the weekend, so that kinda says something. What I'm not sure...

I too like this type of movie, plus I like Francis Lawrences movies, like Constantine.
Though, I'll be sure not to get my expectations up for this just yet, I hope it isn't like a bad britney spears video!

edit..
Just did a Wiki search on I am legend...
I Am Legend has been adapted to a feature-length film three times. The book has also been adapted into a graphic novel titled Richard Matheson's I Am Legend by Steve Niles and Elman Brown.

I didnt realise this book was writen in 1954, I guess I have seen the other two versions/adaptations, The Last Man on Earth- 1964 w/Vincent Price, and The Omega Man- 1971 w/Charlton Heston. Both good films for the times.

so i just got back from a double feature: i am legend and the mist.

I am legend was very entertaining but as said before i would have liked a bit more depth. it seemed like they were going to go deeper like

SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT

when they set the trap, it seemed like they were going to go deeper into the evolution of the dark seekers and stuff. or when they were going into the past.

SPOILER FINISHED
SPOILER FINISHED

i just would have liked to know more about it. it seemed like an extra hour would have done wonders and would have created a real masterpiece rather than an entertaining movie.

That's also how the novella felt; it seemed that while it was an interesting take on the mythos, its main aim was to hit us with that line and the idea behind it.
It could be that I am reading it with a modern mind but the book left me wanting a little bit more too.

a friend of mine has read the novel and told me that it's alot different from the movie. sounds like an interesting book though, so i'll probably pick it up.
