95 Astro No Start

I replaced a fuel pump in a 95 Astro and it still won't start. I also replaced the filter and in-tank strainer. There was no pressure at the bleeder/gauge connect before, now there is but I have not put a gauge on it. There is spark at the dist to the plug wires. Is there another pressure regulator some where that might be bad? What pressure should I be looking for at cranking pressure?

'95's were all hi pressure CMPFI systems- so you need 61 psi to start

I agree, GM spec is 60 to 66psi, key on, engine off, pump running. Pressure must remain above 55psi for 3 to 5 minutes after the pump shuts off.

Update - I have only 10 lbs. pressure after a new fuel pump. Is the a separate fuel pressure regulator or is it attached to the injectors, after the fuel line gauge fitting.

with a new fuel pump - that generates SOME- but not enough pressure- I assume you have a leak- since you had little or no fuel pressure before- and very little now- I would say you missed in your original diagnosis- and you need to check for a leak under the intake plenum- both pumps are trying to feed the spider assembly- but it can't work until it sees 60+ psi pressure- which it never sees because of a severe leak- most likely under the plenum at the plastic feeder pipes- last one I did- I removed the upper plenum- and saw the fuel puddles- and then turn the key on to energize the fuel pump for 2 seconds-- and it squirted fuel in my face!! so be careful.

If you had a severe restriction in your fuel lines- there would be pressure- but not much flow-- so the engine would start and run bad when accelerating- so I go with the leak scenario...have fun.......the pipes are sold separately- the spider assembly is the big bucks.....

This would be the 2nd time for me. There was no real indicator that it was going out like the rough idle and hard to start. It just died out over the course of an hour sitting.

Turned out to be the wrong pump. I did find a leaky return line under the manifold cover so I guess a trip to the stealership is in order. Does anyone know how to get the lines out of the steel fittings at the back of the manifold?
