Hi all. Suspect my DRL relay went bad and need to find it. Another forum says [left side - under dash]. I've looked-and all I see is the ABS module.
Do I have to pull the dash to get at it ??

I have all lights except drivers side headlights. Changed bulbs. Checked fuses. no difference. I assume it to be the Daytime Running Light relay from replys to another poster with similar probs.
Sure would like to find it and jumper or replace as I have 1 headlight and 1 running light (or both running lights if headlight switch off)

Which side ya looking at ? The guy said *left side*. I assume that to mean drivers side.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say your prob is something else - as this relay would only affect your headlight/running light mix from what I understand.
Have you checked out your headlight switch ? Hows the wiring harness look
around the battery area ? Suppose to be a ground to the body somewhere in that part of the harness that maybe came loose.
Good luck with the hunt.

So.....can anyone verify that it is under the dash - or somewhere under the hood ?

The Drl relay is the black square located in the fuse panel on the drivers side on the side of the dashboard

All I have in there when i pop the cover off is a fuse block (with provision for a Power Top relay *if it's a convert*) and nothing else .
I'm beginning to suspect it might be under the hood. Can anyone verify that ? Was there any kinda changover for where they locate this thing around "95-'96-'97 ?

you have to check the wiring harness that goes from the headlight connectors across the front of the car and down past the washer bottle.open the wire harness up,you will find a broke wire or wires.very common on all j bodys from 95-01.look for corroded wire.its easyer to remove the headlight harness and fix the breaks in the wires then it is to fix in the car.check this and you will probably find your problem.

You might be right with the wiring but info from another forum suggests my problem is the DRL relay and to check that first. I have all lights except D side headlight-the running light stays on when the P side does high/low beam.
I'd sure like to find that relay and begin diagnosing from there, but where is it? I will follow your advice if I find changing the DRL relay didn't solve the prob.
