I am looking at a 91 MR2 Turbo in an auction coming up. It has about 125K miles, with some dings and interior wear (not too bad for a 91). What I worry about is the guy selling it claims to be selling for a friend, and, so therefor, does not have service reciepts. The guy seems to be well trusted and has sold and bought a lot of cars in this arena with all positive reviews. Everything checks out on autocheck. What I really worry about is he claims the turbo was replaced 20K ago, but with no reciept. He said that he is trying to track it down to show that it is new. I wont be able to see the car due to our locations, until I pick it up after winning the auction. Price I expect to pay would be around 4500. should I bid if I don't get a for sure on the turbo?
Thank you for your help.

I forgot to mention that I have been interested in MR2 for a while, and I have done a lot of research on the car. I belive that I am as familiar with the car as a person can be without ever driving it.

I'd have a hard time coming up with anything I would spend $4000+
for that I would not want to see before I purchased it.
Good luck with your hunting.

Thanks, I thought I might be letting my heart run wild without considering the logic.
