A Couple of Questions

I have purchased the Hasegawa VW Type 2 Delivery Van and plan to mod it a little proberbly just lowering and maybe some sort of interior in the rear.

My questions...
Is 0.5mm or 0.25mm Plasticard/Styrene a good thickness to use?

Where can I get a set of "fuchs" (the ones on the Tamiya '88 Porsche 911 Turbo).

Or any set of these wheels:

Are either/both of these puttys any good for body work and general use?

I have read the thread on using putty but I'm asking as I don't know the "specs" of this putty eg are they one or 2 part, will they crack etc?

As for the sheet styrene - thickness required depends on what you're trying to do with it - thinner styrene when you need to shape it to curves, thicker when you're adding it for strength or needing a lot of support.

Milliput is a good putty that sets up very hard and is pretty easy to sand and cut. It is a two part epoxy putty and it won't crack. It is, in my experience, pretty hard to work with and shape before it sets up. I find it to be a little heavy handed for work on model cars, but it'll work if that's all you can find. There are other putties, two-part and otherwise, that'll work better for model cars. If you look for products made by hobby companies specifically for plastic model making, like Tamiya, Gunze, even Testors, these will be your best bet.

For the Fuchs > you're right, Tamiya made a nice set with their '88 911 Turbo. Otherwise, most of the Fujimi kits (Enthusiast Serie) have Fuchs and they aren't that bad. They are smaller than Tamiyas but if you go for an Oldschool style with fat tires it will work great. They are also less detailed than Tamiyas. Some Revell kit also have Fuchs but it would be my last choice as they are really crappy .
On www.renaissance-models.com , you can find a set of resin casted Fuchs, they seem to be nice but I never saw them in flesh.

For the Empi rims > it's a bit more difficult, if you make a search or follow the link given by Freakray you should find a link to a website where you can find Raders and Empi 5 spokes. Pegasus also did a model but I can't remember their name or reference. You can also use Cragar rims which are very close to Empi 5's and Fujimi's Watanabe are very close to Empi 8's
