Hi, I was thinking of picking up a 66-67 box nova as my next project and i have a few questions. did any 66-67 novas come with an 8.5 rear? What is the base weight for a 66-67? Did all 66-67 novas come with power steering? And are there any good nova forums/parts suppliers out there? Any help would be appreciated, thanks
Mike

Hi mike. I don't think any Novas came with an 8.5 inch rear until mid year 71. The weight for the 66-67's would be around 2500 to 2700 lbs range for 2 and 4 door cars depending on the model and options. The wagons are heavier and run around 2800-2900 lbs. I'm not sure about the power steering. There are quite a few parts suppliers such as Year One, Classic Industries, National Parts Depot. I know there are more but I'm kinda having a brain fart at the moment and can't remember right now. Some things believe it or not are still available through the dealer and local parts stores. A few years ago I converted my front drums to discs and the rotors, pads, ball joints, calipers, flex lines, wheel bearings were all available at the local parts stores. Although I have heard in the last year or so that that kind of stuff is starting to get hard to find locally. As for any good forums, I'm not really sure. I haven't really looked. I just stumbled across this one.
