I've got a 1990 Dakota that I want to remove the upper ball joints. Per my research I take it these are threaded and not pressed in. Can someone throw in on how to remove these guys? Special tool, pipe wrench, sledge, swearing!

Thanks!

hello bbunn not sure on the 90's but older models were threaded.there are special sockets for bj replacement.i guess you could get away with using pipe wrench.good luck

Yep, they're definately threaded. Now I'm curious if I'm looking at a LH thread on the left ball joint. I could not get it to budge with my pipe wrench until I tried turning it clockwise. So far only been able to turn it about an 1/8 of a turn.
