just wondering what would be the best custom box like what material and shit
it is for 4 kicker L7 10's
and 2 kicker 1200watt amps
I was just wondering before i had one made cause i dont know

most places use MDF (medium desity fiberboard) ..... this turns out to be a good wood to use because it is easily cut and formed, doesn't vibrate too much, and is fairly strong.

fiberglass is used to build the bottom of a box if you are trying to get every last cubic inch out of a curved area like the spare tire well. The top and some of the sides will still be MDF.

Fiberglass is worth it if you have the skill/patience, it can also be a very messy job. The benefits of it is you can do all kinds of cool designs that is very hard sometimes impossible to do with wood. You can make a wood box sound just as good as fiberglass, so it doesn't really pay off if you're just doing it for the sound. If you're going for looks, definately go with fiberglass, the possibilities are endless with shapes that you can do with fiberglass.

usually, good shops will use MDF wood or fiberglass to make a box or custom enclosure. if you are tight for space, use fiberglass. fiberglass is also stronger MDF. therefore, you don't have to make fiberglass nearly as thick as when you use wood. there is a GREAT article on this particular subject in a car audio magazine that came out this month but the name of it just slipped my mind :( i will try to find it again and post the name for you so you can go to the bookstore to read it or something
