(2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD)Well its freaking cold in idaho right now. And while i was going through the coffee shop drive through i went to roll down my window and heard a pop sound. Something broke i believe. know when i push the button to roll down the window i hear the motor running but its not even attempting to roll down the window. i will push on it and then let go and it seems like it runs for a second more also. i was wondering what did i do and can i fix it. or even how to remove the door panel. oh yeah its the driver door. thanks much guys and gals

To remove the door panel, first pop off the triangle peice on the inside of the mirror, then pop off the peice around the door handle, then pop off the small panel that holds your lock and window buttons and disconnect the wire from it. Then there should be a couple long screws one or two around the door handle area and the arm rest area, look for them you will see them, then once all the screws are removed pull up on the whole door panel, it should pop up and out, then un twist the little light that lights up the red and white light on the very bottom of the panel, it should twitst and come out, and there might be a couple clips holding some wires to the inside of the panel, that you can un clip the wires from, let us know how it works out getting the panel off.

I have a very similar problem with my 2002. I believe it is the window regulator that is broken. It has cables that control the glass, moving up and down. You can get them on ebay for $100 cheaper than you can get them at autozone or any parts store. Good luck!
