Its simpler than changing your airfilter dude. Under no circumstances would I pay $70 for one though...

What would be a good brand to go with? About how much should i be spending?
-Also, is it better to get one with the little filter on it, or not?

What are you hooking it to? Do you have a problem with oil coming into your intake via PCV valve or the valvecover breather? I had problems with oil coming out of the breather on the drivers side of the VC so I hooked a catchcan to that line and put a small filter on the other end.
If you hook it to the PCV valve system you will need to connect the other side to the manifold.

My friend and I made one out of shit from Ace hardware for about $4 its not brain surgery. Filter or not doesnt matter, you just need to rehook the nonfiltered ones back to the intake hose.

I was more or less looking for a little more info about catch tanks, i read that oil always seeps into the intake, but im not sure if thats true... It said something bout the engine working harder because of having to clear the oil out of the intake tract.... thus loosing some power...
Bullshit?

It's kinda true. More like the motor choking on oil and burning it up. But again mostly on turbo/super cars. N/A not really.

So im assuming then it would be a waste of money? Or should i get it anyways just because?

If your not turbo I wouldn't worry about it. I never had a problem till I was boosted, this is because of the increase cylinder pressure causing more blow-by. And I only have a problem when laying on the gas and turn right real hard since the oil slings to the breather on the VC and gets shot out. And yes it does shoot out. Its covered the whole underside of my hood before the catch can. I had to JB weld the nipple in the VC cause it would shoot the whole thing out.
