I'm getting ready to take a trip with my wife, two year old, and infant. My wife wants to ride in back with my 4 month old, which means my two year old will need to ride up front. It's a 99 Protege and doesn't have the switch to disable the passenger side airbag. Does anyone know how to disable it in a manner that will allow me to re-enable it after we get back?

Hi Doug
You can take out the fuse for the airbag system (before you start the car) and then the system is disabled. Without the switches now available you can only disbable the entire system, not any single component. That means your airbag will not deploy either (in the event of an accident)
Once home, reinstall the fuse and the system should be online
