My Intrigue does not beep at all with the remote actuation. I don't know if there is an option for that at all, but mine is a 2002. I do know that since I installed my remote car starter the original remote keyless entry does not work as well. I have to move the remote starter's antenna to another location in the car to see if that works. I moved it a bit and it works better, but not as good as before installing the starter.

Hi
Just curious what kind of starter you have. I installed a Bulldog starter and wired in the locks and trunk. All working fine. If all your starter does is crank up the car I would be surprised it is the culprit of you keyless entry woes but I am just speculating.

Hi,
reading from my '99 factory manual it would seem you have the procedure down. Couple of little things: the procedure does say to sit in the driver's seat, close all doors and remove the key before you start the procedure. Then as you say, hold unlock, key in and out twice, then in third time, let go of unlock, 3 beeps, hold lock/unlock together on remote 12 seconds until two beeps, repeat for additional remotes - including your existing one (if you still have one) as it erases all.
Good Luck

I have the ProStart car starter from Canadian Tire. I have had great success with them in my vehicles in the past that have not had any keyless anything in them. Ford Explorers mainly.
I did not take the time to put the antenna for the remote starter in a specific place that the manual recommends. At first I placed it just to the left hand side of the centre vents on the dashboard. When the antenna was placed there the remote locks and trunk release didn't work unless i was at least 4 feet close to the car. I moved the antenna to the passenger side of the centre vent and the original keyless entry works a hell of alot better, but still not as good as it did when the remote starter was not installed.
I think I have to take the time and mount the antenna in an area away from the dashboard of the car. Probably up in the windsheild pillar, or up near the roof under the ceiling panel somewhere. I am not sure where the original keyless entry antenna is, or where the module picks up the signal from the remote, otherwise if I knew I would mount the prostart's antenna as far away from it as possible.

On my Ford Windstar there is an actual antenna located high in the dash. According to the Intrigue manual, the antenna is integral to the receiver which is located mid-dash near the base of the windshield. So, with your antenna there maybe you are causing the problem. My starters came with peel off "stickys" to mount the antenna from the upper windshield. You might try running it up the pillar and along the headliner up near your mirror. My extended range Bulldog's do very well. My son can start his car from his locker inside the school. I start from inside the church, store etc. You might end up with better range on both.
Good Luck

Hi Busyboy thanks for your help and I am following the programming procedure as I have it with me, upto these steps I do fine :
1. hold unlock,
2. key in and out twice,
3. then in third time, let go of unlock, Upto this point I am doing it right.
My intrigue doesnt give me any beeps once I let go of unlock.
4. beeps(Not having these)
Got it checked from the gm dealership he told me its the remote, I bought a new one from ebay but before I blame the remote atleast the car should go into the programming mode.
Also when on step two while key in and out should I turn it to acc position or just key in and out on off position actually I tried both ways didnt work for me.
5.hold lock/unlock together on remote 12 seconds until two beeps, repeat for additional remotes - including your existing one (if you still have one) as it erases all.

Also busboy I dont have a remote car starter installed in my car so atleast that rules out any interference from that with my keyless remote entry.

Hi again,
yeah sorry for any confusion I sort of hijacked your thread for a minute related to remote starters.
Anyway, I am a bit stumped too as it seems you are doing the right thing in tryin g to reprogram your new remote. The manual does emphatically state however that the key should remain in the off position - not acc, run etc. for the whole procedure.
Sorry to not have other ideas for you . I have not done the procedure, just read about it in the manual.
Good Luck

Thanks Busboy, I got it checked from the dealer and he told me that the keyless system isnt working from inside the car, so atleast I wasnt making any mistake and now the dealership technician said we need to check circuiting or check the modules to see if they are working properly will get it checked from his some time later well guys thnks a lot for providing your feedbacks, I think in my case I remember getting my intrigue's heat blower replaced when it wasnt working, I think the guy who installed it probably cut some wrong wire.
