This is the first time I've used styrene tube and I am learning as i go, so the quality of the bends are not that great but i am satisfied with it. The Jeep hood, grill, and firewall come from the daisy dukes jeep and is the only thing i will be using from the kit. everything else will be scratch built or parts box. This will be about 90% scratch built
and now for the pictures

The rear bar will be cleaned up before paint so don't worry about the spot with the putty.

Racing seats are from the Aoshima lifted 4 runner.

And here is how it is now, just some more tubing added.

I would also like to thank Enzoenvy1 for sending me all the tubing and styrene.

He he he. I told you it is more fun than kit builds, lol. Good start you have there. Makes me want to take my Jeep out o the box and finish the damn thing. What parts are you going to use for the axles and drive train?

I think you should definatly finish yours, you have done an amazing job so far. Well i have a few kits i could steal the axels from I will just have to see wich ones i like best. Have any suggestions?

Depends on what you want the end result to be. You can snag the axles out of the Daisy Jeep, but they are very inferior in reality for a buggy. But, you could always grab another kit like I did and use both the rear axles and modify the housings. But then you gotta worry about suspension too. You going Leaf/Eliptical/Quarter-Eliptical/Rear Leaf/Eliptical/Front Coil-overs?! You have a lot of choices. All would work, but it depends on how much you want this thing to look like a real buggy.

Well i'm not to sure of what axels i will use just yet, i was thinking maybe the housings from the mad mudder kit but who knows and the suspension will be 4 link front and back with coil overs, but who knows on this cause im far from it at this point. now for some progress

i have added more tube to create the rear, I will add more later when i figure out more of the suspension.

added some tubes to the front and bottom to complete the chasis...well ill let the pics do the talking.

This is where i want the ride height to end up.

well I've got everything painted and most everything figured out. once i finish the 2nd seat I'll start glueing it all together. The front of the cage is not finished yet i still want to add a stinger. But here are just some mockup photos. Tell me what you think.

Now this is looking good!!! I love the color choice. How about the other parts though, do you have the links and shocks built yet?

I wish I could show you my completed chassis but apparently I have exceeded my bandwidth for my Photobucket account?! Gotta pay or wait three days, hmmmmm. lol Fully built brass chassis now with redone shocks as well. Looks incredible and weighs about 4 pounds.

Can't wait for more progress from you.

The suspension is complete except for the shocks. I was originally going to make some coil overs but I decided i will just make some air shocks instead. It will hopefully allow the suspension to articulate.

I am excited to see your completed tj so hurry up and finish it.

I dont know if you already have an idea, but maby add some KC or PIAA style lights on the front guard or the top roll bars.

might add some nice detail to the build...

Looks really nice so far..good work.

well i would but i've never seen a rockcrawler of this sort with a ton of lights. I would imagine it would be pretty stupid to attempt any type of crawling at night.

LOL, look up night lights and rock crawling and you would be amazed. I have seen rigs that have up to 20 small HID's or LED's placed around their chassis just so they can crawl at night. On a forum I belong to a guy had a switch block that supported 14 pairs of small HID's?! Looked like a spaceship at night running around on the ground. If you can imagine it, people will do it.

haha well i stand corrected, I personally wouldn't ever do it but I don't doubt that some people do.

I finished this today but it is to windy to get any outdoor shots, the wind kept blowing the hood up and it wouldn't stay down so hopefully tomorrow I will have some better luck.

Enzo how is your jeep coming? I see you are still having the photobucket problems.

Well as far as the Photobucket I am at a loss. I cannot comprehend that my account renewed a week ago and I am already over the limit. I know that it has not been viewed that many times. So, either I pay, or I wait. Personally I wait.

As for the Jeep, it is sitting on the bench where is has not moved for 3 weeks. My final semester in college started and thus the time for models is no longer for a while. I will try though as I want all two people who care to see it. It looks great! I really canot believe that I built it.

By the way, I really love your buggy! Seems like something a person could build in 1:1 and be successful. Too bad about the wind. It has been windy and cold as hell here for weeks. I can't even play with my real Jeep lately!!!

Hopefully you get your pics up soon.

Jon

Maybe you can make a new photobucket account. Thats what i did so i could have one just with my model pictures and then one for all my personal stuff.

I did get one decent picture but i think ill wait till i can get some more to go along with it.

The moter came from the revell bronco and i have no clue what size it is.
