B16A swap into an Escort

I have inherited this 99 Ford Escort and really doesn't give much. So I thought I should do a swap.
The questions I have, the Escort right now is weighing 1103 Kgs or roughly 2430 LBS, what does the B16A weigh? andn will it be effective to make this swap. The swap is possible and I got the whole team on standby to do it. Will it be worth it? I would think about boosting later on though.
The mechanics have given me a quotation of around 200 bucks to do the swap excluding electrician work, that would be extra charge(the harness and ECU installation and getting the car started). They are guaranteeing thte engine will be perfectly fit into the hood with no vibrations.
Right now the escort is having a 1.6ltr Zetec which should be giving 90 HP, I would say its giving less than 60 HP now. The B16's are relatively cheap where I live in Oman which is near UAE so we get a whole salvaged car with engine for as low as 600 bucks (even lower than that).
The other day I found a person selling a B18B at a local garage and he said its for 500 bucks, I asked about the B16A and he said he can manage to bring the engine for around 400 bucks. So I would be better off going for the whole salvaged car with the functional engine.
Any opinions?

first off youre trying to mod an escort, of course its slooow, why not just take comfort in decent mpg. just buy an integra or 4th gen civic theyre light lol you could do an ls/vtec swap in the escort for pretty cheap and it would be better off for boost.
if you want god to smite you for sinning then by all means put the motor in there hahaha id grab the whole car cuz wiring wont be very fun. youre gonna need a ton of crap to make this work. but plz put up pics when you are doin the work.

ls/vtec here where I live? impossible! and civic or integra would COST me, the Honda cars are expensive!
