Cams in California

I have a couple of questions does anybody know of what cams are leagal in california. and what kind would be the best. Thanks

There are many cams out there approved by CARB (California Air resources Board). You're going to need to narrow it down. What do you want from a cam? What engine/transmission combo?

We're Comp "bigots" here. IMO, the best line of modern cam profiles.

Its a V8 a4 I want to get a good perfomance cam that does not have to much of a chopy idle but will give it a good sound

unless you mean V8 (350 or 305?) with an a(utomatic) 4


even if this is the case, you still need to provide more details
such as usage
current mods
ect...

im guessing that he has a 2000 ss. just a guess.

i agree that an 00 ss is likely one of his cars, but i have more than one car...

the biggest cam you can put it legally will make the most power.

err, I'm more of a lurker and don't post much but... um, a4.. that probibly means the automatic 4 speed trans..

probably, but when i first saw it, i thought "hmmm. A4... thats an audi..."

not ness. the biggest cam, right? the biggest cam will give you the most powa at high RPM's but if his situation is to NOT rev er up, a big cam would probably lower the power output.

theres also those cams that supposedly have 'lots of hp' but they lose so much down low, that in a quarter mile race they lose to a 'weaker' cam..with more torque.., hp down low
