Hey, shop guys, what is the typical amount of labor time needed to swap out a dying 4.3 V6 for a used 4.3 V6 in a 98 Blazer 4x4?

computer at a friends shop gives an estimate of 12-15 hours to replace the engine.

It depends on a lot of things. IT might take me a week or even 40 hrs.
A good r&r man can do it in a couple of hrs if everything is ready.
I guess it depends what you include in the term "swap"

Basically if they were both the same 4.3 engine or needed little modification to work (if it was a 4.3 from the Astro or something). Replacement would come from a junkyard vehicle. Both completely stock, no power mods or upgraded parts or anything.
I have coolant in my engine from excessive driving with a gasket leak and i'd rather swap in an engine over driving it til it dies.

Oh, it is fixed. Was the typical intake manifold. After it was fixed my mechanic said the engine already had eaten a lot of coolant.
