Hi everybody
After about three years on AF this is finally my frist finished model to show:-)
It's the sister car of the 1998 Le Mans 24h winning Porsche 911 GT1.
That was the last time Porsche ran a factory effort to win the race which they did after the GT1 cars had failed the over all win in the two previous years.
This was Porsche's first full carbon fibre car after the previous two GT1's had been made with composite bodywork but based on metal structures.
The kit is from BBR and wasn't exactly trouble free. If you haven't seen it yet you can have a look in the WIP thread:

But now for some pictures of the finished thing:

Truly amazing work in 1/43 scale all the added parts really make a difference. The wheel nuts you turned look great the rear tail lights are stunning. Can't wait till you finish another one.

The result is great, but seeing all the mods you done.... in few millimetres...just incredible. I'm doing a 1/43 delta, my first: I taken courage and also some inspirations from your job. Yep, incredible job.

I agree entirely. Superb job in such a small scale. The finish on the carbon is particularly good. Well done.:smokin:

Thanks for all the praise guys ( ....blushing :-)
I don't think it's worthy of the AFMOTY '07 title compared to some of the excellent builds we saw this year but i'll enter it anyway...heck it's the first time i have something to enter:-)
To answer the questions that came up...
@nicecar: Oh yes i had some problems....check the WIP thread for that:-)
@geronimo77: I do have reference shots apart from the ones i posted in the WIP-thread. Contact me OTB with what you're after.
BTW there's also a reference disc by "Motorsport in Detail" available on this car and i'd highly recommend the 3 books on the GT1's by U.Upietz titled "Porsche 911 GT1 - Der Erfolgstyp!" ( They're german and english :-)
@Robrex and SeanyG: Yeah that MP4/4....will take a bit still:-) After the troubles with this small bummer i wanted to treat myself with an easier build "just for fun" before getting back to bigger things. You'll see....but probably not before the new year:-)
Cheers everybody!

Simply amazing build you have there! Where did you find a three foot tall Euro for that shot next to that real car though? I have never seen a Euro that big, lol.
