Handbrake light won't turn on

Hey there, I'm having a problem with my handbrake light indicator... when the handbrake is pulled up it won't turn on.

I checked the sensor that connects to the handbrake and its fine, I even tried switching the sensor with one from another 91 Accord in which the handbrake light was working just incase mine was busted but it didn't work either. Also, when I turn on the car, the handbrake light comes on momentarily with all the other lights so I don't think it's a burnt out bulb. And before it stopped working, it would flicker when I had the handbrake pulled up, then go off, flicker a little more randomly, go off, etc. Now it just doesn't turn on.

I don't need the light to let me know if the handbrake is pulled up or not but I like everything working in my car..

I don't know much about cars at all so don't get too technical on me heh... Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

It sounds like you have a bad contact. I have no idea how to trace it. Try all possible grounds.

According to your profile you drive 91 Accord. It may be a broken wire. Intermittent flickering points to this problem.

It could be a bad socket in the dash. You need to take your dash apart.

Good luck,

Sam

Yeah I thought I'd have to take apart the dash... but I don't have time to read up on how to do that and actually do it right now and it's not really something I need to get fixed right away.

I'll post back when I find the time to take apart the dash and figure out what it is, but that probably won't be for a while.. Thanks for the response.
