I want snow rims for the van.
They are 17x7, 115 mm 5 bolt circle.
Are these similar to any other vehicle (non gm) that I can junkyard search for?

GOOD LUCK! Seriously, I have been looking since last Fall when I bought my van for a couple of steel wheels to mount a pair of snow tires to use on my van, but no luck. I was told that '06 was the first year for the 17" rims and there are very few extra around for sale, because of it's "newness". I've looked on eBay with no luck. Your best bet would be a salvage yard from a wrecked van. You could try www.car-part.com, as I've seen some on there, but shipping to my residence makes the overall price a little more than I really want to pay. I guess I'll have to wait a year or two more to find some good used ones at a REASONABLE price. (Forget what the dealer wants for one .I've even tried a local company that specializes in steel wheels for cars and trucks and they told me they are unavailable. Tirerack.com was also a "no-hitter", as that was the first place I tried, expecting they would carry them , but no they don't. A few years ago I bought a pair of steel wheels for my '97 Venture and a pair of snow tires . The rims cost me $35/ ea, not bad at all, and I got the tires mounted on the rims and shipped to me from their warehouse for only $18, a darn good price to ship 2 fully mounted snow tires on 2 rims.Let us know if you have any success, sorry to dampen your hopes, but I'm in the same boat as you are now.

found these - not van looking but cheapish
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/searchWheelsByVehicleAndSize.do?yr=2005&wd=17&rw=&bp=&vid=009193 (the ones for $75)
And wanted to use these tires, actually really good price on big tires
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Winterforce&tireModel=M%2BS&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=26SR7WFORCE&fromCompare1=yes&place=1
I think the issue is the 115 mm bolt circle. I can find used 114.3 (4.5") rims everywhere.

I highly recommend the Winterforce tires. That's the ones I bought for my van (the Venture), and had no problems driving along in the nearly 200" of snow we get yearly. You can't beat the price too when compared to the competition. I didn't realize that the 17" rim was an available option for the '05 Uplander. It was known that GM switched to a 17" rim for '06 due to the many braking issues owners experienced with the 15". so they "upgraded" the braking system , and beefed it up.

From all the data I can find, the 17 was stock for the uplander. Mine are steel rims. It's great that they make the winterforce in my size. I looked last year and didn't recall seeing anything under $100usd
Too bad they didn't upgrade the bearings.... First front one got play at 33k.
Found some steel rims in WA state, $32 plus shipping. Just emailed for a quote, will see how much for delivery. Thanks for the car-part.com link.

Edit - oh great - in 2006 they changed to 6 bolt pattern 115mm, looks like I'm stranded on an island with my 5 bolt 115 mm rims....

:meant: Let me clarify my previous post. (That's what happens when you try to multi-task while online ) I originally meant to say that if your Uplander was a '06 model or later , you'll have a hard time locating rims, (used ones especially.)In '06 GM switched to the 6 bolt pattern in response to issues the previous year's models had with rotors prematurely warping and other brake issues. It was hoped that by going to a heavier duty system the problem would be alleviated. If you are looking for rims to fit a 2005 model, I would suggest getting your hands on a Hollander Interchange Manual. Many salvage yards use these, so if you called around, you might find one in your area. In that book, you can find other vehicles in which their rims will work, therefore widening your choices. I think last year when I looked at Tirerack, the Winterforces I was surprised at how much more the tires for the Uplander were versus my old Venture, (but still worth it.)
