What kind of paint did they use for this pipe? The shine is incredible, it's just like Alclad II, but did they make a gold color?
And how would I make the green discoloration on the bend?

Yep, the thought occurred to me, but Tamiya chrome silver simply cannot be compared with the shine of Alclad chrome. Has anyone tried layering clear orange/yellow over Alclad chrome? Does it work?

I'd assume since it is Tamiya's model (that looks like the new F60), it can't be Aclad (non-Tamiya product; it's like Ferrari borrowing "Porsche" accessories to decorate the F60 :D ).
Then again I could be wrong

Put these two pictures next to each other (cut and paste maybe?) and compare them. I think they are Tamiya products.
EDIT: I meant to say, this picture, and the one in the first post.

That is actually a 360 :) The Enzo has a tad more cylinders ;););):right:
As for the paint, don't horget taht Tamiya also makes enamel X11 paint, and it is shinier than the acrylic one (at least the one they use in their marker)
Which brings me to another question - has anyone tried their X11 enamel paint in the bottles. Or better yet, has anyone tried that and the paint in the X11 marker? Are they the same?

Looks like it was clear orange/clear blue airbrushed straight over Tamiya kit chrome.

While the 360 exhaust looks neat painted that way, the exhaust manifold on the real car looks nothing like that, color-wise. A trip to the Ferrari dealer, where I went into the service area and saw one taken apart for collision repair and another getting a new transmission showed me what it looked like (it's hard to see when the car is assembled).
The real part isn't shiny, having more of a uniform dull-metal appearance. Painting it a light dull iron color is closest to original appearance, perhaps dusting it very lightly with clear orange or yellow but not much.
That said, the part on the model isn't easy to see either, so paint it any way you want!
BTW, the big plated rectangular muffler at the back should be overcoated with a tiny amount of clear yellow, to give it a very slightly silvery-brass color to look correct. The color in the last curve of the pipes before the exhaust tips is pretty close, and the color of the curve closest to the muffler is pretty close to what the exhaust manifolds should be.

does anyone know if it's possible to achieve the discolored look without an airbrush, and with just a brush?

And this one has a dull gold-like finish.
So which one would be good? Is the chrome finish only found on showroom cars?

Probably, you would want to go with the second one if you wanted the impression it had been driven around a lot.
