Car Christmas List

So, what did you ask for for your car for Christmas? Better yet, what'd you buy your car for Christmas.
I bought the GTC a new suspension, wheel bearings, clear turn signals, and possibly a new rack and PS pump. I am probably buying the Stealth the gloss black/polished lip version of my wheels that I wanted in the first place along with some other crap it needs.

I'm buying Sophia a new CAI (complicated), Boost Gauge is in the mail as we speak, and if we can ever get this damned group buy off the ground, a new set of kicks.
I asked for either a Wideband, Corksport Downpipe and/or Midpipe, and window tint. Knowing my parents will be the first to admit they know absolutely SFA about cars, they'll most likely just tell me to pick one, buy it, and they'll cover the bill.
Otherwise, I'm most likely getting some DVDs, a free ride to the Men's Warehouse (cuz not only do I want it, I need it), and the best Christmas present of all, a new fat check for my student loans.

Hopefully the RX-8 will be getting some new tires cause these are freaking BALD! And the jetta all I want is to keep it alive, which is what I am doing and its acting very greatful right now. I Think the jetta loves me too much cause it always give my girl problems but when I drive it I never experience them

X-mas for the Jeep... probably going to buy 6qts. of oil and a filter and change oil in the Jeep. And gotta remember to check the tranny fluid (small leak around the gaskets which is a known issue for them) and wipe some leaked off the bottom end while I'm underneath it (no jack needed ;-).
Cassiesman, when you go to the Mens Wearhouse be sure to stay clear of their brand... Pronto Uomo(sp?) aka Pronto Homo. The quality sucks even after mutliple tayloring. The other brand name suits are quite decent though.
Gotian, I know what you mean about the vw. My wife's vw is leaking oil but I don't know where. I told mechanic to check it out but apparently his boy did the last oil change (I don't change it) because it's still leaking. But the thing runs so smooth (especially with almost 200k)! Wish I could just go buy a new or even an MKIV GTI :-/

I wish you lived here, I would be able to find the leak for you, Fortunately I havent had any leaks except 3 coolant hoses that I replaced. BTW Im sure if you went to a VW dealer and traded for a used MKIV GTI, which you can grab an 04 for about 10-12k, you would probably get a good deal for your trade since you are trading for another VW and youre at a VW dealer.

Actually, I found a really nice 04 GTI... it's Auto with tiptronic, 17 or 18" multispoke rims, monsoon audio (no tape deck) and the most practical part that I've only seen like this on R32s and the 03' 20th Anniversary editions with the name plate above the stereo where the cup holders are between the seats. I've seen the way the Jettas and Gulfs/GTIs all have the cupholders above the stereo and when open is quite impractical. The thing though is the car isn't at a VW dealership, it's at one of those high dollar luxury used car places that sells Lexus, Mercedes, Porsche, etc.

You dont want that one any ways, too many miles for the year, you can one with half those miles and still pay the same price or even a grand more. If your wife didnt drive it I would also tell you to go for a 5 or 6 speed manual instead cause those autos burn down fast.
I'm actually considering trading in the jetta for either an '04 GTI or GLI/ 1.8t. Though most of you know that ive been through headaches with this one and ive cursed it and all that stuff, it is a solid car and in this case the cars pros outweigh the cons. I floor the crap out of the car redlining 1st 2nd and 3rd constantly and I still get 400 Miles out of the 13 gallons I fill up. For me this is a car I hate to love.

That may be true for south florida, but here in SC imports are extremely overpriced.
Actually, the miles seem pretty good IMO. Remember our 99 1.8t has 196k miles on the clock with all original equipment (besides replacing a couple coil packs, spark plugs, belts/water pumps, hoses, brakes and oil). The tranny shifts a little slushy when it's still cold but given the miles I'd say it's fine. The tiptronic works great and I use it whenever I drive.
I'm going to pay off the Jeep first and then worry about it. BTW, when my wife drives we still get 31mpg hwy (which is what the EPA rating was brand new) :grinyes:

See, its hard to tell. At first thats what I was thinking, but 99% of the time, when ever one of those mid ninties V6 Mustang's get brought up, you have to wonder...has this person gone so stupid that they could be serious? I mean, has the general thought of the '96 V6 Stang so screwed with their head that they are dead serious in mentioning the thought of one? Just talking about it here, I think I felt some brain cells die.

Otherwise, performance goodies that I ask for will be for my DS. Probably some pipes, remove the governor, and then maybe reduce some weight off my bitch...

For the truck, I've asked for some black LED taillights, LED light bar, and an LED smoked third brake light (what, I like the LED lights). Also put in for a Z71 hitch cover.
I haven't really asked for anything for the car. Been thinking a lot about swapping the engine/transmission from Casper, but that would be a little mroe involved then just simply taking one out, and putting the other in. I would have to have a new drive shaft made and either buy a new Cheetah powerglide shifter set up for C02, or reuse my Hurst quarter stick from Casper with its electric setup.
So I dont know. I'm getting married in May and we're saving for a house now so I'll be doing good to have the extra money to go racing much less have to spend to do the engine/transmission swap.
I guess I could always just swap engines and soldier on with the 3-spd, but I dont really want to do that.

I would only buy an automatic if I were lazy. Manuals are better in every other way. At least when your clutch slips you can replace it. Start slipping in an auto and you're looking at a rebuild.
Plus, why would you buy a sports car with an auto unless you're a wanker or lazy? (drag racing guys aside)
