Bumblebee Camaro

Sorry if this is an irrelevant topic to post here... but does anyone know if the camaro in the movie Transformers (the one that Bumblebee transforms into) will ever be available to the general public? I know there is a sweepstakes for a chance to win one of THREE customized bumblebee camaros.. but is that it? Are they only making three?
And would it be illegal for me to custom paint a car to look the same as that camaro? Would it be legal if I were to make some modifications?

They will be coming out in 08' or 09' (someone else could tell you for sure) and no it wouldn't be illegal to paint your car like that one

AS FAR AS I KNOW - If you do it to YOUR car there's no problem - even if you do it to your car and then later sell it for whatever reason, but if you do it to sell it (as in you always intended to profit from their design) then there's issues - and that's only if the design is patented / trademarked. I'm not sure whether it is or isn't.
Sort of similar issue with the Baldwin Motion Camaros... their paint schemes are trademarked so technically you can't paint a car to mimic one and sell it for profit. Not that I've ever heard of them going after anyone (I don't really pay attention to it though) but they have that option if you profit off their design, etc.

Yep, its comming out in '09. Buy one in yellow and put aftermaket stripes on it. Heck it may even be availible from the factory that way, but we don't know yet.

I'll be willing to bet the transforming option will cause some serious sticker shock :yikes:

add the stripes afterwards...because as we all know....decals add horsepower.:licka:

lol wright... I don't expect the company to know how to build an actual transformer yet. That is for us future engineers to realize.
Mechatronics for the win.
Yay and I just found some steering wheels with the autobot design on it on ebay :D
Does anyone know how much a paint job like that would cost?

I believe that color scheme will be a rs/ss option.
Wait a sec, are we talking about the 5th gen paint job, or Uncle Bobby B's 'classic nature of the vehicle' paint job?

I am completely oblivious to indepth car related terminology, so I have no idea what rs/ss means. :<
Uh... as appealing as Uncle Bobby B's sounds, I guess I was more thinking along the route of the best damn job they can do?

I've heard of paint jobs going for upwards of $30k... but $3k-$5k will get you something you can brag all day long about.
If it's coming from the factory in yellow... you'd be much better off (financially) just getting the rs/ss (Rally Sport / Super Sport) decals and having someone put them on for you. Probably $200-$300...
Uncle Bobby B baby... That guy was gold! What was it he said to his old lady... "If I had a rock I'd bust you in the head woman" - LMAO!

5k isn't too bad, especially considering how much I'd have to have paid already for the car itself. I can do with that.
Now is just a question of finding a paint place around my area... I seriously haven't heard of any as of yet :(
LOL I thought Uncle Bobby B was a random name that wright came up with.

don't worry there just about isn't any place in country you can go where there isn't at least one paint shop.

Uncle Bobby B's camaro is a 76 and im fairly certain that that yellow with stripes isnt original, the original 76's were two toned (yellow/black...etc)......i read that somewhere...i could be wrong tho....oh and stock 76's are known as the crappiest ever built.
