hey guys, i was gonna buy some plugs today but found i had a few questions.
i know the stock replacement is either the NGK PFR6J-11 or Denso PK20PR-P11.
are there better plugs i should consider?
i'm running stock boost levels, and my only mods are free boost, intake, and hopefully getting rid of all my cats within the life of these plugs.
I want something thats gonna last a little while. i dont wanna break the bank, but ill spend what i need to to get some good plugs.
also gonna get some wires.
what do you guys recommend?

NGK platinum or iridium (my pref), w/ NGK or taylor wires, size isn't so much an issue on wires, but you want the lowest resistance, usually

Hey bro.. I can hook you up.. haha.. lets see personaly I love my copper plugs..but if your looking for longevity go with a iridium plug.. there pricey suckers but they last a good 60k! I can get you NGK or DENSO but I would suggest NGK (cheeper and better!) I will get the price for you if you are interested.. also while you are doing that you will most likely need a intake manifold gasket (FYI even though I am sure you knew that)... as for the wire's.. MSD all the way!! haha at least that is what I would suggest to anyone looking for performance.. i can also hook you up on those for 115.00
If you wanted NGK wires I can get those for 165.00
If you want regular wires nothing fancey at all I can hook you up for 78.00
and if you want some cheep wires I can get them for 60.00
If you want regular plugs (V power's) I can get you those for like 13.00 for 6
Jason

what kind of lifespan do the coppers have?
how about the plats?
60k is nuts...i'll probably swap my engine before then!
i'm definitely interested and will probably hit you up sometime in january.

umm.. stock fuel and boost i would say 12-18k miles
I personaly hate platinums.. there shitty in turboed cars.. (from my experince)
I can actualy hook you up good with aftermarket stuff for the 60k so the price is not that bad.. I thought you just did that though??

yea i did, i was referring to how long the iridiums last. with my mild valve guide seal leak i'd probably need to replace them before 60k anyways, so not really much need to go that route.
I thought the plats were the OEM plug? they suck?

YES YES they are plats from the factory sorry I was not specific with what I ment.. and I didn't go into detail.. Aftermarket platinums have always sucked for me.. my 91 talon tsi AWD had ngk double plats and they fouled out after 3000 miles through in new regular plats and they lasted about the same and then through in some v powers and lasted at least 8000 (when I sold it).. my 90 laser turbo had some plats in it when I got it and they where totaly Fed up like a champ.. my red VR4 had plats when I got it and the steering wheel would shake at adle till I put in the iridiums..
Honestly I have never used factory plugs.. but I do know that they are plats.. non of my cars where at stock boost though so that has some to do with it.
and if I am not mistaken plats run at a hotter temp then the coppers
I AM COMPLETLY BIAS CAUSE I PERSONALY DON'T LIKE THEM! :icon16:

I'm 100% in support of coppers. Yes you have to take 30 minutes out of your busy lives to change them every 10-12k...big deal. They cost a $1.20 a piece and are the best performance-wise for turbo cars. I run NGK #5030 they are one range colder, and have them gapped at .32 Never had a single problem with them.
