i have a 99 grand prix gt.
Ok. here is my question/ problem. we drove to enid oklahoma over the weekend and back just fine. got up monday morning. and the car wouldn't start. clicked a couple times like it was a bad battery connection.though the battery connections were all tight. i went to work and when i got off work i bought a new battery for it. put it in and it started right up. i went in and went to bed and when i got up the next morning, nothing not even a click. i put the charger on it today and the battery was at 80% when i first put the charger on it. i have no lights not even dome lights. but the battery is charged fine. it won't even jump start. still has no juice to it at all. i can hear the cd player make a whirring sound like it is trying to start going but no radio. when i turn the key on and off a couple times fast the indicator on the dash for park flashes i put it into neutral and it continues to flash. Any ideas on this i can do i would really appreciate. before i have to tow it into the shop 20 miles away.

Welcome to AF.

Did you get the alternator checked out to make sure the charging system is working properly? What voltage are you reading across the battery negative and positive terminals?

no haven't checked the altenator yet. gettig 12 volts on the battery and 12 volts at the relay terminal. battery is fully charged. but it seems like the car isn't getting any power anywhere. am currently working on ohming out the wires to make sure i don't have a bad wire. i have had a few people tell me the starter may be taking all the juice before it reaches the rest of the car.if the starter is bad. is that possible? haven't had any problems with the starter before but that doesn't mean it isn't bad i guess. could it be possible that one of the relays has gone bad?

Starter is always a possibility since you appear to have a gross parasitic loss/drain/short. You can disconnect the "S" terminal which is for the starter solenoid and the B+ connection at the starter which is hot at all times as long as the battery is connected to see if the lighting stays on or is normal. Before the starter solenoid is a crank relay.

Note: For safety make sure you disconnect both negative and positive cables at the battery before working on the starter connections.
